Guarda Val

11 huts and barns, 300 years, 1600 m above sea level

The Guarda Val is a unique Maiensäss hotel allocated in 11 huts and barns that are up to 300 years old. Located 1600 metres above sea level in the hamlet of Sporz, directly above Lenzerheide, the Guarda Val combines the fascination of deep-rooted local alp tradition with a contemporary concept of Alpine design and lifestyle. It is large enough for luxury yet small enough for individuality.

Each of the huts and barns of the Maiensäss hotel have been newly refurbished for the opening in summer 2009. Contemporary design has been combined with material from the mountains, particularly using wood and stone. While the interior of the historic buildings has been completely renovated, the exterior has retained their original facades.

The result: the Guarda Val skilfully combines luxury, pleasure and personal service with authenticity, simplicity and a genuine mountain experience.

The Guarda Val is perfect for those seeking a cosy retreat as a balance to the hectic everyday life without having to abandon the modern convenience of a 4-star superior hotel.
